Whimsical Autumn wedding at Dodmoor House, Northamptonshire.
It’s no secret that Dodmoor House in Northamptonshire is probably my favorite wedding venue, but I am a bit biased because that’s where I had my wedding reception! Dodmoor House is made up of 3 restored barns that surround a two tired courtyard and features a gorgeous farm house that makes a lovely backdrop for photos.
Dodmoor House has so many wonderful features, from lots of space, 2 barns which means weather is never a issue, beautiful back drop, but by far their top draw is their incredible staff and experience, everything they do ensures a smooth, stress free day and enables you just to have the best day.
Emma got ready with her with her girl’s on site, and the vibe was perfect, the honeymoon suite has a large getting ready room including a big table and mirror which everyone took turns either having their hair done or putting on their own makeup and it had a real sleep over feeling to it. Chilled, fun and supportive.
The ceremony was sweet, Emma was walked down the aisle of the rustic oak-beamed Courtyard Barn but her mum and dad, the couple couldn’t stop beaming at each other the whole way through the ceremony and after the registrar’s had done their but the bride’s dad took over the preform a blessing- which got all the guests involved and was a sweet way for the pair to honor her dad’s faith without opting for a full religious service.
The couple then came back up the aisle to bubbles in a move that seemed completely in keeping with their fun personality!
Dodmoor House is just outside Northampton and Daventry but the farm house, barns and exclusive nature of the venue make it easy to forget about the real world whilst you’re there. The Grand Union Canal is right next to the venue and makes the perfect spot to steal a few moments of quiet and take it all in (and take some photos of course)
Emma and Matt went with a warm and whimsical style for their wedding day- decorating the tables with seasonal flowers, mushrooms and little wooden mice. Honestly the whole wedding gave off Hobbiton Vibes and I was totally in love with it.
This was only cemented with a nontraditional wedding cake (but that I just mean it wasn’t white) that became a real show stopper and made every guest who walked past it coming into dinner smile.
One of my favourite things about this wedding is how they kept their guests entertained. Lots of tiny mice were hidden around the venue for people to find and quickly you could spot these little faces popping out from jacket pockets! Such a fun, easy and budget friendly way to add a bit of extra whimsy to your wedding day! In addition to this they also set up a foosball and air hockey table in the quiet barn during the evening and had banging evening playlist that kept the dance floor full.
