H&G’s Magical Wedding at Chicheley Hall
Back in May I got to photograph the wonderful Holly & Graeme on their wedding day. This couple are really close to my heart because they’re the first couple that booked me after I started advertising that I was doing weddings. I remember feeling such a close bond with them on our enquiry call so to get to see thier day realised and photograph them making their vows felt really special.
The wedding took place at Chicheley Hall, situated just outside Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes. The venue is a classic looking 18th Century mansion which has been a popular wedding venue in Milton Keynes for many years, which makes it the perfect setting if you want a wedding with that fairy tale feeling.
H&G had their ceremony in the gran hall which on a sunny day like the one we had, has this elegant airy feel. Holly looked like a princess as she descended the sweeping staircase which is one of the venues many stunning features. H&G choose to have flowers running up the banister and cancels along the steps which is such a gorgeous look.
Chicheley Hall has recently started allowing dogs which meant this little cutie, Reggie to his friends, could act as ring bearer and it meant the world to Greame to has his family pet with them on their big day.
The Day itself was very emotional, with a couple of happy and grateful tears being shed by the couple. I think it’s really easy for people to forget, what with all the expectations and cost attached, that weddings are about two people coming together to celebrate their love story and how you as a couple make each other whole. In truth this is my favourite part of being a wedding photographer- it’s documenting the connections people have.
H&G had their Wedding Breakfast in Chicheley Hall’s Wolfson Suite, a beautiful wood panelled dining room that gave the meal and speeches an intimate feeling without loosing the grandure of the day.
One of Chicheley Hall’s best features as a wedding venue, is the variety of photographs you can capture during the couples portraits. With the venue being nestled within 80 acres of land, there are plenty of options for gorgeous photos.
